You can pick up an information/application packet from the front of the Science Office or click on the Info and Forms tab above to download the application and waivers.  The scheduled meetings will NOT be taking place due to the Covid restrictions.

Google form Quiz about the Video Tutorial above submit BEFORE 6pm on Monday June 3rd. I must have time to grade it before we leave. Any quizzes submitted after 6pm on June 3rd will receive a score of zero.

I will see you at 6am at the American Airlines ticket counter on Tuesday morning. Triple check that you have your driver’s license (or government issued ID) to check in. You will also need $35 for checking 1 bag under 50 lbs.

I hope you all have your snorkel equipment and are starting to gather your things for packing. Please check this packing list again and keep it handy.

We only have 1 more day of regular classes. So if you need to see me about anything, do it on Tuesday May 21st.

SCUBA – I still have 3 people that have not sent me their SCUBA certification card copies and filled out the waiver form.  You must do this ASAP!!! See your email for the links.

Are you getting excited about the trip yet?  Make sure you check your emails for updates. I still need copies of forms and waivers from several of you. Copies of documents can be found by clicking the Info page above.

Students, I will send you a link to our pre-departure class right before final exam time in May. You will need to watch the video, take careful notes, and answer the google form. Due date will be June 3rd.

The application period is now open for the June 2019 trip! The course is only open to Brebeuf Jesuit students that are freshmen, sophomores, or incoming freshmen. See the Info & Forms tab above to download the application and waiver forms. Application, teacher recommendation, and $500 non-refundable deposit due by May 7th, 2018.

Mrs. McCarter will hold quick informational meetings before school, during both PRTs, and after school on April 5th in the science office.

An optional information and Q & A meeting for students and parents will be held April 18th from 4-5pm in the Large Group Instruction (LGI) room 102.

Morning tidepools lab at Puako

 

We also found 6 turtles in the tidepools!

Then snorkeling at Puako – we played with Christmas tree worms that looked like these.

During class today, we made sand wheels with different colored sand from around the island and fish printing (gyotaku) t-shirts

  

Studying for the final exam in the dining room – we played Kahoot and Quizlet Live.

  

Today’s Classroom Mon. June 18th

After classes about corals, marine reptiles, and marine mammals, we trekked through the Wizard of Oz’s scary forest to get to the Waikaloa petroglyphs. At Dolphin Quest, we learned how to be a dolphin trainer. Lei making at sunset on Hapuna Beach was so much fun.  We ended the night with a viewing of Moana.
